Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to join our team at our Tarmac Tunstead site in Buxton, Derbyshire. This key role will have responsibility for delivering a comprehensive, commercially focused HR service for one of our largest Cement Plants in the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor HR policies, initiatives, and projects to support the delivery of the company's objectives.
  • Work with colleagues to deliver the business's strategy on talent attraction, talent identification, and development, and succession planning.
  • Lead on early careers activities, including educational engagement activities.
  • Ensure compliance with employment law and company policies.
  • Promote a culture of consistency, equality, and fairness in employee relations matters.
  • Provide coaching and support to site management teams to create an enabling and engaging culture.
  • Be the main point of contact for union representatives and be involved in the annual wage negotiation process.
  • Provide relevant HR KPI data, analysis, and insight.
  • Drive an absence and performance management culture across the site.
  • Coordinate the annual performance review process and other tasks required as part of the annual HR cycle.

Requirements

  • CIPD qualified or equivalent experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of HR principles and practices, coupled with relevant business experience and professional development.
  • Good working and practical understanding of employment law and employee relations cases.
  • Proven track record of supporting business changes such as reorganisations and TUPE transfers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and develop strong relationships internally and externally.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience of working in a unionised environment.
  • High integrity and ability to challenge, impact, and influence others.
  • Personal drive and desire to succeed and improve.
