Maths Educator

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Maths Tutor to join our team in a prison education setting. As a Maths Tutor, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality education to adult learners, helping them to acquire essential skills and knowledge.
About the Role
This is a full-time position, working 37 hours per week, with a salary scale of up to £32,000 per annum. You will be required to deliver a high-quality curriculum, teaching Functional Skills Maths to learners at Entry Level to Level 2. You will also be responsible for carrying out all tasks associated with teaching, including lesson planning, marking, and assessment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality Maths lessons to adult learners in a prison education setting
- Plan and prepare engaging and effective lessons, using a range of teaching strategies and resources
- Assess and mark learner work, providing constructive feedback and guidance
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching and learning strategies
- Contribute to the development of the prison education department, identifying areas for improvement and suggesting solutions
Requirements
- Five GCSEs at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent), including English Language and Mathematics
- A Degree, or professional qualification, which is appropriate to the work
- Teaching Qualification
- Knowledge and experience of current teaching and learning strategies
- Excellent team working, communication, and interpersonal skills
