Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Critical Care Practitioner to join our team at Swansea Bay University Health Board. As a Critical Care Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in our Emergency Department, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent patient outcomes.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing initial treatment and assessment of adult and paediatric patients presenting with illness or injury
  • Supervising and managing patients in the Emergency Department
  • Working closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent patient outcomes
  • Participating in a full shift 24/7 rota of more experienced doctors who provide support to the junior grade at Morriston ED

Prehospital Medicine

The post holder will also have the opportunity to work with our Emergency Medical Retrieval Service (EMRTS), providing prehospital care to patients in need. This will involve working with a consultant and/or a Critical Care Practitioner to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • MB BS or recognised equivalent
  • GMC Reg with license to practice
  • Evidence of working towards Primary MRCEM, Primary FRCA or MRCP
