About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Incident Control and Business Continuity Manager to join our Estates Workplace Operation team in East Kilbride, Scotland.

This critical role will oversee day-to-day incident control and business continuity readiness for our Specialist Site, ensuring all HMRC Lines of Business and Other Government Departments can effectively respond to incidents and recover operations swiftly.

As a key figure in our resilience and safety strategy, you'll lead emergency responses, develop robust continuity plans, and collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders.

Your Responsibilities

  • Spearhead all aspects of fire safety, ensuring compliance with departmental and legal requirements.
  • Take charge during emergencies, making critical decisions to ensure occupant safety.
  • Lead and develop the Incident Control Team, providing continuous support and training.
  • Collaborate with emergency services and internal stakeholders during incidents.
  • Drive counter-terrorism activities in line with departmental standards.
  • Oversee the development and testing of Business Continuity Plans across all Lines of Business.
  • Prepare and run Business Continuity exercises to maintain operational readiness.
  • Conduct regular building safety checks and address identified issues promptly.
  • Participate in the Regional Health and Safety Committee.
  • Provide expert guidance on Incident Control and Business Continuity to all departments.
  • Monitor safe occupancy and ensure protection against terrorist threats.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with customers and third-party suppliers.
  • Interpret and apply relevant statutory legislation to inform decision-making.

Requirements

  • Substantial recent experience in an incident management and/or business continuity role.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to take charge in high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of fire safety regulations and emergency procedures.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement business continuity plans.
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments and safety drills.
  • Ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation and regulations.
