About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Plant Health Support Specialist to join our team at the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA). As a key member of our Customer Service Centre Network, you will play a vital role in ensuring the import and export of live animals, plants, animal products, and plant products comply with regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing expert advice to customers on importing and exporting plants and plant products
  • Completing document checks on consignments of plant imports
  • Producing Export Certificates for plants and plant products
  • Coordinating physical inspections of goods for import and export
  • Answering telephone and email queries and following up enquiries which cannot be immediately resolved
  • Assisting stakeholders with billing enquiries and resolving invoicing errors
  • Providing classification of potatoes produced and marketed in England and Wales
  • Registering and authorising professional operators to produce UK plant passports
