Job Summary:
Cranleigh Scientific Ltd is seeking a highly experienced Compliance and Health and Safety Manager to join our team. About the Role:
The Compliance and Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing health, safety, and environmental policies, conducting regular inspections, and creating training programs. Key responsibilities include:
  • Developing and implementing health, safety, and environmental policies in alignment with local authorities.
  • Conducting regular inspections and audits to identify hazards, assess risks, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Creating and delivering training programs on safety procedures, emergency responses, and environmental conservation.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of safety programs, making adjustments for continuous improvement.
  • Maintaining and updating safety data sheets (SDS) to ensure compliance with communication standards.
  • Staying informed about health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices, communicating updates to the organization.
  • Serving as the primary contact for regulatory agencies, participating in inspections and audits.
  • Carrying out safety risk assessments prior to new projects.
  • Being accountable for health and safety performance and the establishment of safety goals.

Key Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a Level 5 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental health and safety management, preferably in manufacturing. Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and analytical problem-solving skills are essential for this role. Ability to lead and influence a culture of safety and accountability, proficiency in software for managing safety data, and knowledge of contractor management on site are also required.
