About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Senior Children's Support Worker to join our team at Austin Fraser. This is an exciting opportunity to work with young people between the ages of 8-18 who require support due to Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). As a Senior Children's Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in creating a safe and supportive environment that encourages the young people to develop their skills and independence.

Responsibilities
  • To lead by example and support the management team to run the shift effectively.
  • To mentor and support newer staff members, promoting a culture of collaboration and teamwork.
  • To encourage the young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives based on their age and individual needs.
  • To manage challenging behaviours in a safe and sympathetic manner.
  • To maintain a safe environment for the young people and ensure their physical and emotional well-being.
Requirements
  • Experience as a Children's Support Worker or in a similar role within healthcare or social care is essential.
  • A Level 3 NVQ in Children & Young People is mandatory.
