Job Title: A&E Therapy Physiotherapist

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Band 6/7 Physiotherapist who is keen to work as part of a wider MDT, leading a specific part of our physiotherapy service. As an A&E Therapy Physiotherapist, you will be responsible for assessing and treating patients with musculoskeletal disorders, providing pre-operative assessment, post-operative rehabilitation, and supporting the ward nursing team and discharge team to ensure safe discharge and ongoing care and support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and run Patient Initiated Follow Up (PIFU) outpatient clinics under the supervision of orthopaedic consultants.
  • Undertake assessment and treatment of all hand patients following their surgery, liaising with the orthopaedic consultant as needed.
  • Partake in pre-operative assessment of patients with complex equipment needs to facilitate safe and effective discharge planning.
  • Provide clinical leadership and management in the absence of the Physiotherapy Manager, with support from the Deputy Heads of Department.

Requirements

  • Physiotherapy Degree or Diploma.
  • Substantial experience in a senior physiotherapy role Band 6 or above.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Recent experience in the field of musculoskeletal disorders.
  • Previous experience within an acute hospital environment, especially with orthopaedics.
  • Ability to plan, allocate, and evaluate own work and develop self to enhance performance.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Committed to supporting and empowering a physiotherapy team.
