Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Early Years Educator to join our team at Bright Horizons Surbiton Ewell Road Day Nursery and Preschool. As a Bank Staff Member, you will have the flexibility to work on a part-time basis, blending the convenience of Bank / Locum / Agency work with the security and benefits of being an employee.

About the Role

As an Early Years Educator, you will be responsible for supporting our nursery colleagues in delivering high-quality care and education to children aged 0-5 years. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Engaging children in entertaining and educational play and activities, encouraging their development towards key milestones, and ensuring their safety throughout the day.
  • Working as part of a larger team to ensure all essential day-to-day tasks are completed in line with nursery demands, including hygiene standards and room preparation.
  • Promoting and ensuring child welfare, protection, health and safety, and safeguarding.
  • Working with colleagues to maintain a positive, happy, and safe environment.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A full and relevant Level 2 or above Early Years qualification.
  • Previous experience working with children, preferably in a nursery or childcare setting.
  • A passion for making learning fun and engaging for each child.
  • The ability to use a variety of communication techniques with both children and adults.
  • A sound understanding of child protection and the safeguarding of children.
  • The ability to be flexible and adaptable.
