Job Summary

Main Responsibilities
  • Operate a range of radiographic equipment, including general, mobile, CBCT, and fluoroscopy, to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Work collaboratively with a professional radiography team to provide a high-quality diagnostic service.
  • Maintain a sensitive and courteous approach to all patients, ensuring their comfort and dignity at all times.
  • Develop and improve professional expertise through continuous professional development, staying up-to-date with the latest techniques and technologies.
  • Maintain a safe working environment within the departments, adhering to all relevant health and safety protocols.
  • Clinically supervise and train Student Radiographers during hospital placements, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
  • Maintain the highest professional standards, as set out by the Health Professions Council, and adhere to all relevant policies and procedures.
Person Specification

Essential Qualifications:

  • Diploma of the College of Radiographers (DCR) or Bachelor of Science (BSC) Degree in Diagnostic Radiography.
  • Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Certificate in Intravenous (IV) Cannulation.

Essential Experience:

  • At least 1 year's experience as a Band 5 Radiographer.
  • Experience of working unsupervised and managing a caseload.
  • Awareness of clinical governance issues in relation to patient care.

Desirable Experience:

  • MRI/CT experience.
  • Experience of training staff and students.

Role Extension/CPD:

  • CPD - clear recent CPD.

Desirable CPD:

  • CT/MRI-related CPD.
