Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Radiographer to join our team at Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a Band 6 Radiographer, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients.

Main Responsibilities
  • Operate a range of radiographic equipment, including general, mobile, CBCT, and fluoroscopy, to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Work collaboratively with a professional radiography team to provide a high-quality diagnostic service.
  • Maintain a sensitive and courteous approach to all patients, ensuring their comfort and dignity at all times.
  • Develop and improve professional expertise through continuous professional development, staying up-to-date with the latest techniques and technologies.
  • Maintain a safe working environment within the departments, adhering to strict health and safety protocols.
  • Clinically supervise and train Student Radiographers during hospital placements, promoting their professional growth and development.
  • Adhere to the highest professional standards, as set out by the Health Professions Council, ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.
Person Specification

Essential Qualifications:

  • Diploma of the College of Radiographers (DCR) or Bachelor of Science (BSC) Degree in Diagnostic Radiography.
  • Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Certificate in Intravenous (IV) Cannulation.

Essential Experience:

  • At least 1 year's experience as a Band 5 Radiographer.
  • Experience of working unsupervised, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality results.
  • Awareness of clinical governance issues in relation to patient care, with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards.

Desirable Experience:

  • MRI/CT experience, with a strong understanding of the latest techniques and technologies.
  • Experience of training staff and students, with a proven ability to mentor and develop others.

  • Clear recent CPD, demonstrating a commitment to ongoing professional development.
