Special Needs Teaching Assistant

We are seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team of special needs teaching assistants. As a special needs teaching assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities to access the curriculum and participate in activities.

You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Your duties will include assisting students with their daily routines, providing emotional support, and helping them to access the curriculum.

We have a range of roles available, including full-time/part-time, long-term/short-term, to suit your needs. We work with all SEND schools across South Yorkshire and aim to find you the best fit, whether that's a behavioural support role or supporting children with severe learning difficulties.

About the Role:
  • Support students with special educational needs and disabilities in their learning and daily routines.
  • Work closely with teaching and support staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide emotional support and assistance to students as needed.
  • Help students access the curriculum and participate in activities.
  • Assist with personal care and moving and handling as required.
Requirements:
  • A caring and empathetic approach.
  • An interest and passion in supporting SEND students to achieve better outcomes.
  • A flexible approach and open nature.
  • Existing experience working with children or adults with SEND is preferred but not essential.
  • Team Teach or Moving and Handling training preferred but not essential.

The estimated salary for this role is £22,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

Please note that all applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role as well as the Right to Work in the UK. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position, with the option to make it permanent at a later date.
