Crop Science Data Analyst Role

We are looking for a talented Crop Science Data Analyst to join our dynamic team at the National Institute of Agricultural Botany (NIAB). In this critical role, you will be responsible for analysing and interpreting large-scale genetic and sequence datasets to identify key trends and patterns in crop traits.

You will work closely with our Crop Quantitative Genetics team to develop and implement advanced data analysis techniques, ensuring accurate and reliable results. A strong background in quantitative genetics, bioinformatics, plant biology, or a related field is essential. Advanced skills in genetic mapping and statistical genetics, as well as proficiency in R software, are required.

In addition to your technical expertise, excellent organisational and communication skills are necessary to effectively collaborate with colleagues and present findings to stakeholders. Experience with bioinformatics tools, command line systems, and sequence analysis are desirable but not essential.

The salary for this position is £34,148 per annum, depending on experience. The contract is a 3-year fixed term, and working hours are 37 hours per week, Monday-Friday; part-time considered.
