Job Title: Lead Engineer - CFD Process Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Engineer - CFD Process Specialist to join our Andretti Cadillac team at our Silverstone facility. As a key member of our Aerodynamics department, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers responsible for developing tools, applications, and workflows that provide capability across the team's Aerodynamics department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of engineers responsible for developing and implementing methodologies, tools, and workflows to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our CFD process.
  • Work closely with Aerodynamicists and CFD engineers to solve complex problems and develop processes.
  • Responsible for the delivery of robust, observable, testable, and performant processes.
  • Ensure that CFD simulations and analysis carried out within the department are aligned with the capability of the tools.
  • Oversee the optimization, maintenance, and support of new and existing codes, processes, and toolkits.
  • Work and contribute across multiple disciplines of the CFD group, including process, external flows, internal flows, thermal modeling, and pipeline development.
  • Lead software engineers to translate engineering codes into robust applications.
  • Assist and contribute to the long-term HPC strategy.
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the CFD process group.
  • Provide support to users of the CFD process.

Requirements:

  • Multiple years' relevant experience in a similar role within the motorsport industry.
  • Strong knowledge of fluid physics, numerical methods, turbulence modeling.
  • Experience in programming (C++, Python, Java, or VBA) and experience with STAR-CCM+ and open-source CFD codes.
  • Experience with HPC hardware and systems.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Able to perform duties in a timely manner with minimal errors.
  • Ability to line manage/lead teams effectively.
  • Communicate effectively with key stakeholders/directors.
  • Clear and concise communication.
  • Strong levels of IT skills including MS Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Positively contribute to an open and inclusive culture.
