Speciality Doctor

We are seeking a highly skilled Speciality Doctor to join our Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery team at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working closely with Consultants and Associate Specialists to assess and treat patients with a range of conditions.
The post holder will be expected to work a total of 10 PA's a week, including 8 sessions of direct clinical care and 2 sessions supporting clinical activity. The role will involve assessing patients with intraoral hard and soft tissue lesions, dental and dentoalveolar pathology, TMJ pathology, head and neck lumps, salivary gland pathology, skin lesions, oral and maxillofacial trauma, and head and neck malignancies.
The clinics for assessment of new patients, treatment, and reviews will be held at Stoke Mandeville and Amersham Hospitals. The post holder will also be required to operate at the day case operating theatre at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, with responsibility to the Consultants, mainly providing assistance and performing certain procedures under supervision.
Main Responsibilities- Assess and treat patients with a range of conditions, including intraoral hard and soft tissue lesions, dental and dentoalveolar pathology, TMJ pathology, head and neck lumps, salivary gland pathology, skin lesions, oral and maxillofacial trauma, and head and neck malignancies.
- Work closely with Consultants and Associate Specialists to provide high-quality patient care.
- Operate at the day case operating theatre at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, with responsibility to the Consultants, mainly providing assistance and performing certain procedures under supervision.
- Participate in clinical governance activities, including clinical audit, clinical effectiveness, and risk management.
- Contribute to the Specialty Registrar academic teaching programme and contribute to the monthly departmental audit meeting.
- GDC Registered Dental degree BDS or equivalent or GMC registration.
- Previous oral and maxillofacial surgery experience.
- At least 1 year experience at SHO level in Oral and maxillofacial Surgery.
- Broad base of clinical experience, further experience in treatment of multidisciplinary case load.
- Experience as SpR or equivalent level.
