Residential Child Care Specialist

At Brook Street Social Care, we are committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for vulnerable children and young people. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Worker to join our team in Children's Homes.
About the Role
As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting children and young people to develop, build self-esteem, and contribute positively to their families and society. You will be responsible for managing care plans, conducting risk assessments, and supporting emotional, physical, and educational needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and safeguard children and young people in residential care
- Manage care plans and conduct risk assessments
- Support emotional, physical, and educational needs
- Foster strong relationships with children through daily routines and joint activities
- Assist with personal care tasks for children with disabilities or complex needs
- Collaborate with families, professionals, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for the children in your care
- Maintain accurate records and ensure all care provided complies with health, safety, and confidentiality standards
Requirements
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care (or equivalent)
- Recent experience working with children or vulnerable adults in a paid or voluntary capacity
- Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with children, young people, and professionals
- Ability to manage challenging behaviour using restorative approaches and de-escalation techniques
- Flexibility to work on a rota basis, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins
