Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor in Mechanics of Materials

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor in Mechanics of Materials to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our solid mechanics research group, you will be responsible for leading research in mechanics of materials, with a focus on high-temperature materials performance, fracture and fatigue mechanics, and the integrity of metallic components.

Your research will contribute to solving significant industrial challenges and align with the activities of the solid mechanics research group. You will also play a key role in teaching, developing and delivering undergraduate and postgraduate courses in materials engineering and structural performance. Additionally, you will supervise student projects, engage in cross-disciplinary collaboration within the Faculty, and contribute to the strategic direction of the School.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead research in mechanics of materials, with a focus on high-temperature materials performance, fracture and fatigue mechanics, and the integrity of metallic components.
  • Teach and develop undergraduate and postgraduate courses in materials engineering and structural performance.
  • Supervise student projects and engage in cross-disciplinary collaboration within the Faculty.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of the School and participate in leadership roles.
