Role Overview:
Rikama Education, a leading SEN school in London, seeks a Special Needs Advocate to support students with complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and related conditions. As a Special Needs Advocate, you will work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and other professionals to deliver a comprehensive and supportive learning program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and address the specific needs of students, developing and implementing individualized learning plans.
- Collaborate with teaching staff and other professionals to deliver high-quality educational programs that cater to the diverse needs of students.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and contribute to regular reviews of learning plans.
- Build strong relationships with students, their families, and colleagues to ensure a supportive learning environment.
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with best practices in SEN education.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience working with children, particularly in an SEN or educational setting.
- A genuine passion for supporting young people with special educational needs.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to working with students with diverse needs.
