About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and empathetic Casual Residential Child Care Worker to join our team in Carlisle. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing individualized support to young people aged 6-18, promoting their well-being and helping them achieve their goals.

This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires a deep understanding of the complexities faced by young people in care. The ideal candidate will be able to work collaboratively with colleagues and build strong relationships with families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing personalized care plans, taking into account the unique needs and aspirations of each resident
  • Facilitating socialization, promoting independence, and encouraging participation in activities
  • Providing emotional support, guidance, and advocacy, ensuring the rights and dignity of all residents are respected
  • Maintaining accurate records, completing paperwork, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the service
  • Liaising with external agencies, such as healthcare professionals, and attending meetings as required

Requirements

  • Proven experience working with young people in care, ideally within a residential setting
  • Able to demonstrate empathy, compassion, and a non-judgmental approach when interacting with residents
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, with a focus on evidence-based practice
