Training Programme Director - Forensic Psychiatry

As a Training Programme Director, you will be responsible for coordinating the training across the region. To be eligible, applicants must be currently working within the East Midlands area at consultant level or equivalent, including SAS doctors in the specialty school area. Essential experience includes working within the specialty at consultant or SAS doctor level and considerable experience of working with learners or doctors in training in an educational context.

It is expected that Training Programme Directors continue in clinical practice while fulfilling the role.

You will work closely with the Head of School, Postgraduate Dean, and the Future Workforce Team to produce doctors who will strive for the highest standards of patient-centered care and commit themselves to a lifetime of professional development.

Qualifications and Training
  • Primary clinical healthcare qualification.
  • Membership/Fellowship of a College, Faculty, professional association, and be registered with the regulatory body.
  • Considerable experience of working with learners or doctors in training in an educational context.
  • Trained and experienced in recruitment, selection, and Equality and Diversity in the last 3 years.
  • Understanding of developments involving the relevant Colleges/Faculties, professional bodies, related NHS organisations, and regulatory bodies.
  • Understanding of the workforce transformation agenda.

Salary paid in line with TPD sessional payments, depending on experience.
