We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Manager to join our Investment Department. As a key member of our team, you will provide first-line risk oversight of our FCA-regulated subsidiary, People's Investment Limited.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain an investment risk framework and governance structure that integrates with our Group-wide risk framework.
  • Act as first-line risk defence for People's Investment Limited, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Agree fund risk frames with the CIO and CRO, monitoring these using independent views on underlying holdings data supported by appropriate systems.
  • Monitor and analyze risk within portfolios at different levels, including region, sector, currency, factors, rates, and spread.
  • Develop and integrate data and systems alongside other teams to support independent risk views.
  • Review and challenge investment proposals made by the Investment team.
  • Provide risk signoff into the Investment Exec on all investment proposals.
Requirements
  • 5-10 years' experience within an asset manager or HF environment.
  • CFA, IMC, or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience of performance and risk attribution on single and cross-asset class portfolios, including alternatives and illiquids.
  • Quantitative/modelling capability.
  • Knowledge of portfolio construction.
  • Familiarity with different risk systems, including Barra, Riskmetrics, and Factset Axioma.
  • Understanding of fund/asset valuation principles and methodologies.
  • Understanding of performance attribution methodologies for each asset class.
