About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Manager to join our Investment Department. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing first-line risk oversight of our FCA-regulated subsidiary, People's Investment Limited.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and maintain an investment risk framework and governance structure that integrates with our Group-wide risk framework.
  2. Act as the first line of risk defence for People's Investment Limited, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  3. Collaborate with the CIO and CRO to agree fund risk frames and monitor these using independent views on underlying holdings data.
  4. Conduct ongoing monitoring and analysis of risk within our portfolios, identifying potential areas of concern.
  5. Work with other teams to develop and integrate data and systems to support independent risk views.
  6. Review and challenge investment proposals made by the Investment team, providing risk signoff for all investment decisions.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 5-10 years' experience in an asset manager or hedge fund environment.
  • CFA, IMC, or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience of performance and risk attribution on single and cross-asset class portfolios.
  • Familiarity with different risk systems, including Barra, Riskmetrics, and Factset Axioma.
  • Understanding of fund and asset valuation principles and methodologies.
