CNC Operator Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator to join our team at Tranquil Recruitment Solutions Ltd. As a CNC Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce high-quality parts and components.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operating Fanuc robots
  • Following part set up sheets
  • Using hand tools such as pin grinders/angle grinders
  • Completion of daily operation, TPM (total preventative/production maintenance) and pre-operation check sheets
  • Documentation completion
  • Manual handling tasks
  • Following engineering drawings
  • Weld repairs
  • Inspecting quality of parts to maintain high standards
  • Inspecting all equipment to ensure it's in a safe working condition
  • Supervising the machines while they execute the tasks and making any necessary adjustments to produce a better result
  • Checking and maintaining machinery daily to ensure functionality
Requirements:
  • NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or similar discipline is essential
  • Flexible attitude towards job rotation and further training is essential
  • Previous experience working on a dress machine would be beneficial but not essential
  • Previous experience working within the manufacturing sector would be beneficial but not essential
  • Previous experience operating handheld tools would be beneficial but not essential
  • Previous experience using engineering drawings would be beneficial but not essential
  • Previous welding experience would be beneficial but not essential
  • Effective communicator capable of two-way communication
  • A team player being able to work together to achieve targets and meet deadlines
  • Confident in identifying business improvements and effectively communicating ideas
  • Proactive mindset and an ability to work on individual tasks
  • A safety conscious attitude working towards the 5S methodology and the 5 Why methodology
  • Comfortable asking for assistance when needed in order to achieve good outputs
  • Quality focused and comfortable raising quality concerns or queries
  • Good attention to detail
