About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our team at a prestigious manufacturing client in Sedgefield. As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for running and setting Injection Moulding machines with Automation, ensuring efficient production and quality control.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate IML machines, including robotics, in a safe and timely manner.
  • Ensure machine packers are trained and utilised correctly, reporting any issues to management.
  • Perform product changeovers, setups, and run established tooling to customer specifications and production time targets.
  • Diagnose and correct running faults in a timely manner.
  • Effectively communicate progress and any issues to the Shift Manager/Process Engineer.
  • Record and segregate all scrap product in ATR bins.
  • Complete required information on IT systems/paperwork, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain machine efficiencies and minimise scrap production.
  • Identify tooling and process issues, communicating these and any defects to the Shift Manager/Process Engineer.
  • Maintain the area, including machines, to the highest hygiene level possible.
  • Control the process to maximise output while minimising scrap.
  • Follow procedures laid out in the training document and Handbook.
  • Take an active part in training and development programmes.
About You
  • Good verbal communication and listening skills, with all communication in English.
  • Ability to use own initiative to work as an individual or as part of a team unsupervised.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment to meet team expectations.
  • Ability to operate computer equipment for data purposes.
  • Ability to use a variety of measuring equipment.
  • A methodical approach to systems and understanding of the importance of standards and established/agreed systems of work.
  • Able to make decisions based on experience, have confidence to act and make changes within given boundaries.
  • Good personal organisation under pressure from time, internal and external customers.
  • Ability to read and understand written planning and follow verbal instructions.
  • A flexible approach to work.
