Our client school, located in the Colchester area of Essex, is seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to join them in January 2025. This role requires supporting pupils with Emotional and Behavioral Disorders (EBD) and/or Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

  • Pupils with various special educational needs, including ADHD, Asperger Syndrome, Autism (ASD), Behavioural, Emotional and Social Difficulties (BESD / EBD), Challenging Behaviour, Global Development Delay (GDD), and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD).

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a passion for improving the educational and life chances of children and young people.
  • Be able to support individual pupils as well as small groups of pupils.
  • Be a positive role model and offer encouragement to promote confidence.
  • Assist with the planning of learning activities.
  • Help with classroom preparation.

The salary for this position is estimated at £20,000-£25,000 per annum, depending on experience. We also offer a range of benefits, including online portal access, training and development opportunities, and a generous referral scheme.
