Job Description

Job Title: PE Teaching Assistant - Sports Mentor

Location: Salford area

Job Type: Full-time

Hours: 8:15am - 3:15pm, Monday to Friday

Salary: Up to £100/day

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced PE Teaching Assistant to join our team at a welcoming and supportive special needs secondary school in the Salford area. As a PE Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to deliver sports sessions that aid engagement, motivation, confidence, fun, and emotional resilience for students with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver sports sessions to students with additional needs
  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff to implement sports sessions
  • Manage behaviour and deal with challenging situations
  • Provide positive reinforcement and encouragement to students
  • Collaborate with the team to overcome challenges and achieve goals

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting in PE or coaching or mentoring teenagers in sports
  • Enhanced DBS certificate (or be happy to apply for a new one)
  • Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable)
  • 2 professional references checks
  • Provide a CV with full history from your education until present
  • Have the legal right to work in the UK
