We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Professional to join our team at Protocol Education. As a Teaching Assistant for students with special needs, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils in their learning objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Learning Support: Assist pupils in their learning programmes, setting high expectations and encouraging independence and confidence.
  • Mentorship: Mentor students on a 1:1 basis, planning and leading booster and intervention sessions to tackle difficult topics.
  • Observation and Feedback: Observe, record, and provide feedback on pupil performance.
  • Behaviour Management: Use strategies to assist in behaviour management, in liaison with the teacher.
  • Inclusion: Promote inclusion, encouraging pupils to interact and work collaboratively.
  • Resource Development: Adapt and develop resources for EAL and SEND pupils, ensuring their safety and enabling them to access the curriculum.

Essential Requirements:

  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Genuine passion and belief in the potential of every pupil.
  • Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or willingness to pay for one.

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience working with children in a tutoring or classroom capacity.
  • Experience managing children in a formal setting.
  • Maths and English GCSE or equivalent at grade C or above.
  • Certified teaching assistant course or training or willingness to undertake this.
