We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Special Education Teaching Assistant in a special education needs school in Luton. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of students with special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working closely with teachers and other support staff to deliver tailored support to students
- Assisting pupils with academic tasks, promoting independence, and encouraging participation
- Safeguarding the well-being of all children, ensuring their physical and emotional safety
- Developing and maintaining positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
- Communicating effectively with students who have additional needs, adapting your approach to meet their individual requirements
- Providing administrative support to the teaching team, contributing to a smooth and efficient learning environment
Requirements:
- Enhanced child DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
- Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs, preferably in a primary setting
- A calm and caring personality, with a strong commitment to pupil development and well-being
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues
Salary: £25,000 - £35,000 per annum, dependent on experience
