Senior Scientist – Protein Binder Expert

Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced phage display scientist to join our Protein Binders team at Nxera Pharma. As a member of our Platform Technology division, you will work in interdisciplinary teams to accelerate the development of life-changing medicines.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Subcloning of plasmid constructs for expression and protein engineering of VHH frameworks
- Biophysical evaluation of VHH hits
- Sharing your expertise and insights across the team, project, and department to drive project success
The estimated salary for this position is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience. Our comprehensive benefits package includes health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- A PhD (or MSc/MRes with equivalent lab experience) in a relevant area of biology with at least 3 years' experience carrying out phage display campaigns
- Theoretical and practical expertise in phage display technologies and selection techniques
- Experience working with phage antibody libraries and preferably VHH display
- Strong molecular biology proficiency and expertise in protein-protein interaction screening techniques
- Demonstrable analytical thinking skills, good problem-solving abilities, and excellent interpersonal skills
