Advanced Research Scientist Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and independent postdoctoral scientist to join our research group at the University of Cambridge, located in the internationally renowned Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute.
The successful candidate will play key roles in a collaborative research programme, focusing on understanding how mammalian cells respond to DNA damage and defining how such responses are controlled and coordinated.
The work will involve combining genome engineering and genetic screening approaches in human or mouse cells with next-generation sequencing, bioinformatics, cell biology, molecular biology, and biochemistry.
Key responsibilities include identifying novel genetic and functional relationships between DDR genes/proteins and expanding knowledge of how DDR processes are affected by protein post-translational modifications.
Candidates must have a PhD in biological sciences, strong experience in mammalian cell biology and CRISPR-based gene editing technologies, and excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
Fixed-term: The position is available for 1 year initially.
Appointment at Research Associate level is dependent on having a PhD. The estimated salary for this role is £32,982 - £40,927 per annum (Research Assistant grade), moving to £39,899-£49,149 per annum upon confirmation of their PhD award (Research Associate grade).
