About the Job:

As a Principal Scientist at GSK, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge mRNA vaccine development projects and contribute to the advancement of our company's mission to positively impact human health.

Job Description:

  • Design, develop, and implement novel analytical methods and technologies for mRNA and macromolecule characterization and testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and execute experiments, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality results.
  • Mentor and guide junior scientists and technicians to develop their skills and expertise.
  • Stay current with industry developments and advancements in mRNA technology to inform and drive research and development efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of Quality by Design (QbD) principles in the analysis of mRNA and macromolecules.
  • Work closely with colleagues to design and execute experiments, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
  • Ensure the quality of data and presentation of results to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines and achieve goals.

Education and Experience:

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field with 3+ years of post-doc and/or job-related experience, or MS with 6+ years of experience, or BS with 9+ years of experience.
  • Expert knowledge in Mass Spectroscopy, Chromatography, HPLC, Electrophoresis, Spectroscopy analyses and techniques used to characterize macromolecules, e.g. mRNA and proteins, at molecular level.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate complex scientific information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Estimated Salary Range:

$120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
