Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust is working together with Adult Social Care to deliver our Home First service offer alongside core Community Therapy. This integrated health and social care service brings together community-based nursing, therapy, and adult social care teams to provide a high-quality therapy service to patients in their own homes.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our team and contribute to the delivery of our Home First service. The successful candidate will work closely with Physiotherapists and Technical Instructors to carry out comprehensive functional assessments and interventions to help patients live as independently as possible.
Main Duties and Responsibilities- To provide a high standard Occupational Therapy (OT) service to all patients.
- To support the Team Leader to organise, develop, and maintain an efficient and effective Occupational Therapy community service.
- To undertake therapeutic assessments of patients, some of whom may have complex and diverse conditions, and delegate appropriately.
- To provide, develop, and implement individual and/or group care/treatment plans.
- To hold responsibility and manage own caseload effectively, working without direct supervision, with access to advice and support from a Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist as required.
- To contribute to the supervision, education, and assessment of the performance of Occupational Therapy students in accordance with University standards.
- To take responsibility for the clinical supervision of Junior members of staff working with the post holder.
- To participate in audit and research projects to further your own and the team's clinical practice.
The successful candidate will be highly motivated, resilient, and proactive, with excellent communication and organisational skills. They will be able to adapt to changing and pressurised working environments and work effectively as part of a team.
