Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled SEMH Teacher to join our secondary, alternative provision in New Ferry. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality, tailored education to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

About the Role:

The SEMH Teacher will create a nurturing, supportive, and challenging learning environment that meets the diverse needs of their students. They will work closely with support staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support for each student.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons tailored to the needs of students with SEMH needs.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes both academic and personal growth.
  • Implement strategies to manage challenging behaviour and support students in developing coping mechanisms.
  • Monitor and track student progress, adapting teaching methods as necessary to meet individual learning goals.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs in a secondary or alternative provision setting.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with SEMH needs and proven strategies for addressing these challenges.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
