Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Behavioural Specialist to join our team at a nurturing and inclusive Special Educational Needs school. The school provides a safe, supportive environment for children with complex learning needs, including Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.

About the Role

This is a full-time temporary position with the possibility of becoming permanent. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and support staff to implement individualised learning and behavioural support plans. They will provide one-to-one and small group support for students with challenging behaviours, developing strategies to help them manage and improve behaviour.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement behaviour management strategies for students with SEMH needs.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to create individualised learning plans that address students' unique needs.
  • Support students with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs), ensuring they receive targeted interventions and holistic care.
  • Monitor and report on progress, adapting approaches to meet individual needs and promote positive outcomes.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with children who have Special Educational Needs (SEN), especially those with SEMH needs.
  • Strong understanding of EHCPs and how to support individual needs outlined within them.
  • A patient, compassionate approach with excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment, sharing best practices and strategies to support each child's unique needs.
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is estimated to be around £30,000-£40,000 per annum, based on location and industry standards. As a member of our team, you will also benefit from:
