**Job Title:** SEN Support Specialist

**Estimated Salary:** £25,000 - £35,000 per annum

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Support Specialist to join our team at a primary school in Birkenhead. As a key member of our support staff, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide tailored support and guidance to students with Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and trauma.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant, preferably with a focus on supporting children with ACEs and trauma. Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and de-escalation strategies is essential, as well as resilience, patience, and empathy when working with students facing complex emotional challenges.

**Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualised support plans for students with ACEs and trauma
  • Implement strategies to manage challenging behaviours and create a safe learning environment
  • Collaborate with teachers and external professionals to develop behaviour management plans

**Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in teaching assistance
  • Previous experience working with students with ACEs and trauma
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and de-escalation strategies
