About the Role

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Support Worker to join a client school in Sholing. As a Mental Health Support Worker, you'll be a vital part of the team, supporting individuals with mental health challenges and empowering them to lead fulfilling lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Day-to-Day Support: Provide emotional and practical support to individuals, encouraging independence and confidence.
  • Assist with Daily Activities: Help with personal care, social interaction, and household tasks.
  • Develop Trusting Relationships: Build positive relationships and act as a role model for individuals.
  • Monitor and Record: Track changes in clients' behaviour, health, or needs, and report to healthcare teams as needed.
  • Collaborate with Professionals: Work with other professionals to create and maintain personalised support plans.
  • Maintain a Safe Environment: Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all individuals.
  • Promote Mental Wellbeing: Participate in activities that promote mental wellbeing, social skills, and community involvement.
Requirements
  • Experience: Prior experience as a Mental Health Support Worker or in a related support role (desired but not essential).
  • Personality: A compassionate, patient, and empathetic personality.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills for building supportive relationships.
  • Pressure Management: The ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations.
  • Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in mental health, social care, or similar fields (advantageous).
