The role of a Mental Health Support Specialist offers an exciting opportunity to embark on a career in the NHS, with access to training and progression, including nursing apprenticeships. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with patients, their families, friends, and carers, ensuring they receive a positive experience.

Job Description

You will be working as part of a dedicated team comprising nurses, healthcare support workers, activity coordinators, social workers, occupational therapists, psychologists, and psychiatrists across various wards, including Acute mental health wards and Forensic mental health wards.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing direct patient care while maintaining patient privacy and dignity.
  • Working alongside registered nurses to provide nursing care, helping patients with daily living tasks.
  • Supporting the nursing and wider team to deliver clinical tasks, including physical health monitoring.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need excellent communication skills, the ability to engage with clients with complex needs, and a Level 2 Diploma/NVQ in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
