ROLE OVERVIEW

Our corporate practice at Slaughter and May is a comprehensive and specialized area that encompasses a wide range of activities related to corporate, commercial, and financing matters. The practice is supported by a team of Tax, Competition, Financial Regulation, Disputes and Investigations, Tech, Digital, Data and IP, Real Estate and Pensions, Employment and Incentives specialists, who work closely with the main activities.

This role is part of the Corporate stream's Professional Support Lawyers team and requires close collaboration with them. It may also involve liaising with fee earners and, on occasion, partners, as well as regular contact with information services and other support services within the firm.

The Corporate practice is divided into three groups, comprising circa 30 partners and 125 associates. The Corporate knowledge team consists of nine Professional Support Lawyers, two Knowledge and Information Officers, and a knowledge paralegal. The team provides support to the entire corporate practice.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinate the collection of Corporate precedents created by fee earners, identify useful materials, and index and publish them on the firm's know-how database
  • Maintain data on aspects of market practice and fees on Corporate transactions
  • Prepare agendas and minutes for meetings involving Corporate Professional Support Lawyers and know-how users' forum
  • Support fee earners with precedent searches
  • Draft communications to fee earners
  • Provide day-to-day support for Professional Support Lawyers, including ad hoc projects and research tasks
