Community Development Officer

Ashford Borough Council is seeking a skilled Community Development Officer to join our team in this dynamic role.
You will be responsible for managing a designated patch, delivering a high-quality housing service to tenants and residents across the borough.
The Key Aspects- Deliver a neighbourhood-based housing service, addressing rent arrears and anti-social behaviour (ASB) through partnership working.
- Conduct regular property and estate inspections to maintain council properties to a high standard.
- Promote community cohesion and engagement through collaborative working with tenants and residents.
- Work closely with partner agencies to provide safeguarding, welfare support, and multi-agency solutions.
- Assist with income management, ensuring effective rent account maintenance.
- Address ASB in partnership with agencies such as the Police and social care services.
- Conduct welfare checks for vulnerable tenants and make safeguarding referrals as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with statutory landlord duties, including gas and electrical safety checks.
Estimated Salary: £25,000 - £28,000 per annum
