About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our team at EMBL-EBI. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and operating high-throughput pipelines to support scientists worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop high-throughput pipelines using Java and Spring framework.
  • Work with our development and operational teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment.
  • Collaborate with EBI's IT and Technical services teams to ensure smooth operation of our systems.
  • Develop and maintain large scale databases using Oracle and MongoDB.
  • Ensure excellent knowledge of the UNIX command line and experience with workflow management systems and distributed data processing software.
  • Apply modern software development practices, including continuous integration and deployment, and system monitoring.
  • Work effectively as part of a team with diverse skills and backgrounds.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of professional software development experience using Java and Spring framework.
  • Experience with workflow management systems and distributed data processing software.
  • Experience with large scale databases.
  • Excellent knowledge of the UNIX command line.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
