Job Title: Technical Account Manager

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Account Manager to join our team at VickerStock. As a key member of our commercial, technical, and NPD team, you will be responsible for managing technical liaison with key UK supermarket accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a key technical contact between customer technical departments, managing information relating to food safety, quality, and legality.
  • Manage all relevant raw material, product specifications, and Quality Attribute Sheets for related products.
  • Work as part of a customer-facing team with commercial and NPD contacts to develop customer accounts.
  • Liaise between all relevant departments within the business to ensure customer requirements are communicated and adhered to.
  • Manage and communicate relevant technical KPIs to the business and customers.
  • Conduct product checks and inspections, and report accordingly to ensure products meet customer specifications.
  • Deal with non-conformances and work with management to initiate corrective actions.
  • Review artwork in advance of product launches to ensure labels are complete, accurate, and legal.
  • Liaise with NPD to assist with product presentations, development approval, production handovers, and product launches.
  • Maintain and update relevant retail price lists and communicate them to the business.
  • Participate in site Allergen Management Programme to ensure raw materials meet customer, company, and legal requirements.
  • Collect and analyse data on relevant key performance indicators, such as customer complaints, store complaints, and sales.

Requirements:

  • 2 years of experience working in a related customer-facing technical role in the food industry.
  • Minimum of a HND in a food science, food technology, or a related discipline.
  • Full clean driving licence.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the red meat supply chain, quality assurance, and UK retailer industry.
  • Proven track record in dealing with key aspects of the role.
  • Excellent communication skills and a can-do attitude.
  • Willingness to travel to customer meetings and other sites throughout the UK and Ireland.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for interfacing with major retailers and other internal and external customers.
  • A high level of motivation, career drive, and self-discipline to meet strict deadlines.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience with HACCP, Allergen Management systems, and food labelling.
