Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Family Support Worker to join our team at We Manage Jobs (WMJobs). The successful candidate will work closely with our experienced Safeguarding Officer and Principal to provide support to children and their families, with a focus on improving attendance and punctuality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with teaching staff to assess and provide targeted support to pupils to raise achievement and overcome barriers to learning.
  • Identify the needs of pupils requiring extra support and develop individual action plans.
  • Work one-to-one with targeted pupils to implement action plans and provide additional support.
  • Collaborate with parents and carers to address poor performance, attendance, and behavior.
  • Conduct home visits to maintain positive family relationships and support.
  • Monitor progress and report on the implementation of plans, supporting the reintegration of pupils excluded from school or following an alternative timetable.
  • Provide access to a range of activities and opportunities to support pupils' development.
  • Develop partnerships with external agencies to establish resources and initiatives to address barriers to learning.
  • Maintain accurate pupil records and prepare written reports and evaluations.
  • Ensure confidentiality in relation to pupils' personal circumstances.
  • Develop group support opportunities during lunchtimes and after-school hours.
  • Support the transition of pupils moving between schools.
  • Supervise pupils excluded from class or following alternative timetables.
Requirements
  • NVQ level 2 or above or equivalent.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of children and young people.
  • Enhanced DBS check.
  • Ability to provide documentation as required by Asylum and Immigration legislation.
