Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to take on the role of Assistant RDC Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for maximising RDC sales and profitability through effective business development, customer service management, and asset management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Business Development: Analyse RDC sales and profit performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to address them. Develop and maintain long-lasting B2B relationships, delivering excellent customer service and ensuring the safe and efficient running of the RDC operation.
  • Customer Service Management: Build and maintain positive customer relationships, resolve customer queries and issues, and process customer returns and warranties effectively and efficiently.
  • Asset Management: Manage warehouse layout to maximise operational efficiency, monitor stock movements, and ensure all aspects of RDC activities comply with company procedures and policies.
  • People Management: Lead on the recruitment and selection of new members of staff, oversee the induction of new members of staff, and manage the performance of direct line reports.
  • Communication: Respond to regional management requests, attend regional and RDC review meetings, and escalate all RDC operational and sales issues promptly to relevant regional manager.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure all RDC equipment is recorded accurately and checked regularly, conduct weekly RDC H & S inspections, and maintain a positive approach to Health and Safety at all levels.
Requirements:
  • Flexible working pattern to ensure efficient/effective trading.
  • Occasional out-of-hours travel requirements.
  • Occasional overnight accommodation.
  • May be required to drive Non-HGV delivery vehicle on occasion.
  • Job may involve lifting/carrying/handling goods on occasion – maximum weight 25 kg.
  • Any other reasonable task as required.
