Job Title: Assistant RDC Manager

A challenging opportunity has arisen for an experienced Assistant RDC Manager to join our dynamic team at Alliance Automotive Group.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Regional Distribution Centre (RDC). The successful candidate will be responsible for maximizing RDC sales and profitability through effective business development, customer service management, and asset management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Business Development: Analyze RDC sales and profit performance to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to address them. Stay up-to-date with local market knowledge and communicate this information to relevant staff.
  • Customer Service Management: Build and maintain positive customer relationships through various contact methods. Review and improve delivery service to aid business development. Resolve customer queries and issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Asset Management: Manage warehouse layout to maximize operational efficiency. Monitor stock movements and ensure stock systems are maintained and updated. Ensure all RDC activities comply with company procedures and policies.
  • People Management: Lead on the recruitment and selection of new staff members. Manage the performance of direct line reports and identify staff development needs. Provide coaching and on-the-job training where necessary.
  • Communication: Respond to regional management requests in a timely manner. Attend regional and RDC review meetings with regional management. Escalate all RDC operational and sales issues to relevant regional managers.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure all RDC equipment is recorded accurately and checked regularly. Conduct weekly RDC H&S inspections and take remedial action as necessary.
Requirements:
  • Flexible working pattern to ensure efficient/effective trading.
  • Occasional out-of-hours travel requirements.
  • Occasional overnight accommodation.
  • May be required to drive a Non-HGV delivery vehicle on occasion.
  • Job may involve lifting/carrying/handling goods on occasion – maximum weight 25 kg.
  • Any other reasonable task as required.

Special Requirements:

Please note that this role may require occasional out-of-hours travel and overnight accommodation. The successful candidate will be required to drive a Non-HGV delivery vehicle on occasion and may be involved in lifting/carrying/handling goods on occasion.
