We Manage Jobs (WMJobs) is seeking an exceptional Special Schools DLP Attendance Officer to join our team. This exciting opportunity will see you working across the city, providing vital support to Birmingham Special Schools to improve school attendance and engage families.

Role Overview

This newly formed team is based at Wilson Stuart School, but your impact will be felt throughout the city. As a committed and enthusiastic member of our team, you will work closely with schools to develop strategies that drive up attendance and provide a high-quality education for students with physical disabilities and complex medical conditions.

About the Role

As a Special Schools DLP Attendance Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting schools to tackle attendance issues and promote family engagement. Your experience working in educational or family support settings, particularly in attendance management and/or safeguarding, will be invaluable in this role. You will also have experience working within SEND, making you well-equipped to understand the needs of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective attendance strategies in partnership with schools
  • Provide expert guidance and support to schools on attendance management and safeguarding
  • Work closely with families to build trust and promote positive relationships
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to attendance and safeguarding

  • A competitive salary range of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience working in educational or family support settings, particularly in attendance management and/or safeguarding
  • Experience working within SEND
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A commitment to improving school attendance and engaging families
