Job Title: School Maintenance Officer

Job Summary: GSL Education is seeking a skilled School Maintenance Officer to join our team. As a School Maintenance Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the school premises, maintaining a safe and well-maintained environment for staff and students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Opening and closing the building, ensuring the site is safe and secure
  • Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs
  • Checking heating, lighting, and alarm systems
  • Moving furniture and arranging chairs and tables for meetings or assemblies
  • Routine maintenance of school buildings and grounds, including minor repair work, such as changing light bulbs, erecting shelves, painting, and redecorating, as well as grounds maintenance, including grass-cutting
  • Cleaning duties, including litter, bins, and toilets; assistance with deep cleaning of classrooms and school pool/changing rooms
  • Porterage of heavy objects, such as stock, furniture, or equipment
  • Ensuring the school has sufficient stock of cleaning resources
  • Overseeing external contractors visiting the school site
  • Having a full working knowledge of all cleaning equipment, materials, and approved chemicals
  • Ensuring all Safeguarding Policies are always adhered to and raising any concerns in line with school policy

Requirements:

  • Holding a right to work within the UK

Additional Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS Child and Adult Check – Must be on the update service
  • 2x Educational References are a must in order to clear your file with GSL
