About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Centre Technician to join our team at McCabe & Barton. As a Data Centre Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our data centre infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical assistance and support to customers, resolving incidents and proactively addressing technical issues.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to escalate and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Manage inventory, track equipment and supplies, conduct audits, and maintain stock levels.
  • Monitor infrastructure and respond to alerts or alarms to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of customer interactions, technical issues, and resolutions using a ticketing system.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as equipment audits and upgrades, installations, cable management, and patching.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback on customer support processes, tools, and procedures.
Requirements
  • At least 1 year's experience working in a technical support role in a data centre environment.
  • Solid knowledge of networking principles, server hardware, and patching.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues, including experience with diagnostic tools and utilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with customer support tools and systems, such as ticketing systems, monitoring tools, and remote support technologies.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) are a plus.
