We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Medical Practitioner to join our team at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will be a fully registered Medical Practitioner with a strong background in Geriatric Medicine, holding qualifications such as MRCP and having received CCST in Geriatric Medicine within 6 months.

As a key member of our team, the Senior Medical Practitioner will be responsible for managing outpatient priorities and waiting lists, as well as leading a team of healthcare professionals.

The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in research and audit, as well as a commitment to continuing medical education and a willingness to undertake additional responsibilities at local, regional or national levels.

We are looking for a candidate with a multidisciplinary team experience, an enquiring and critical approach to problems, and a strong teaching ability.

The Senior Medical Practitioner will be responsible for ensuring the provision of high-quality care to our patients, and will be expected to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to achieve this goal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage outpatient priorities and waiting lists
  • Lead a team of healthcare professionals
  • Develop and implement clinical policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to achieve high-quality patient care
  • Participate in research and audit activities

Essential Qualifications:

  • Fully registered Medical Practitioner
  • MRCP
  • CCST in Geriatric Medicine within 6 months

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Post-graduate qualification
  • Publications in peer-reviewed journals

Training:

  • As required by the Royal College of Physicians
  • Formal Specialist Registrar training in Geriatric and General Medicine

Specialist Interest:

  • Specialist interest in one area of Geriatric Medicine
