Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Operating Department Practitioner to join our Anaesthetic team in Main Theatres. Our team is committed to providing exceptional patient care and a supportive environment for our staff.

Main Duties

As an Operating Department Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing skilled assistance in Anaesthetics, supporting the perioperative team in delivering high-quality patient care. Your duties will include:

  • Providing basic theatre skills and theatre processes support
  • Assisting in the preparation and maintenance of operating theatres
  • Supporting the anaesthetic team in the administration of anaesthetics
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of theatre policies and procedures
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A sound knowledge and experience of basic theatre skills and theatre processes
  • Excellent communication and team working skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals
  • Flexibility and a commitment to working in a fast-paced environment

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Registration as an Operating Department Practitioner or nurse with a UK-approved anaesthetic qualification
  • Membership of a professional body
  • Experience in a theatre environment, with a commitment to developing skills and knowledge
  • Excellent communication and team working skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals
