Job Title: Asset Drainage Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Asset Drainage Engineer to join our team at Telford & Wrekin Council. As an Asset Drainage Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining the Council's highways drainage assets and managing highways flood risk in the Borough.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the Council's highways drainage assets, including reactive maintenance and customer liaison.
  • Work closely with our Term Service Contractor to deliver a risk-based gully maintenance programme.
  • Use drainage software to manage and maintain the drainage network.
  • Design and supervise drainage schemes, including capital improvement projects.
  • Provide technical expertise to internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Degree qualified in a relevant field, such as civil engineering or environmental science.
  • Proven experience in drainage maintenance in a Local Authority setting.
  • Strong customer focus and ability to work quickly and efficiently to solve problems.
  • Ability to use drainage software and NEC3 contracts.
  • Valid driving license and ability to provide own transport for business use.
